Groundhog Day in May

it seems every day is groundhog day in these parts. another saturday has come again and not much different today. long day yesterday so i thought i'd try sleeping in again. i turned off my alarm clock only to wake up anyway at 0645. i guess that's what happens when you get older. gets harder and harder to sleep in. i am taking my time going in to work which is why i can write right now. i'm trying to find random times to hit the internet cafe and it seems to work as the connection is much faster and i don't have as much trouble uploading pics. ah to go back to wireless again. amazing how quickly you forget how annoying a slow connection really really is.

i haven't been checking my donut of misery lately, but this blog sorta does a pretty good job tracking the time. before i know it, it's been a few days since i've posted and a weekend is here again. it's pretty nice actually, because all the time goes by relatively fast, the days go pretty slow and i've prolly said it before, but it really feels like i've been here forever. starting to warm up, too!

mrs. sooch, mr. & mrs. p, thanks so much for the packages and even more so, thanks for thinking of me. dr. b, thanks for the card and thanks for just letting me know what's going on in your lives...really is nice to hear.

the pic above is from the c-130 ride from kuwait to iraq. funstuff, eh?

Hey Huy! I've been spinning a bit, heavy work loads, warm weather, a kickin' social life, and planning Bach's Graduation party next weekend... so I'm here catching up on your blogs-- here as in Chez Khuong and Uyen's place! ;) We are watching the Delahoya fight (don't know how to spell his name)!

Hope all is well...we are surely going to miss you at Bach's party/Mother's Day weekend gathering. It's a nice one too... it's almost like Bach's wedding...we just need a bride. ;)

Take care!

Huy! I started my new job this week. Things are really looking great for a new start here. Much nicer people, and the work is pretty interesting so far. I am learning a TON about human subjects research. Which is funny because Ryan and Thad are putting together a project. It is interesting to know the procedures and see a "doc" go through the paperwork.

Ryan leaves Memorial Day to head out to sea. He is gone for 4 months. I know, it's a drop in the bucket for you. I just hope there won't be any catastrophes at the house while he is gone. I can just see me trying to deal with the aftermath of a hurricane this summer on my own.

Well, keep your chin up, and remember we all think of you often. Goodluck whipping your students into shape, Prof!

Love,
Jen

Huy, I'm the worst friend ever. Val and I were talking at dinner tonight about you and all of a sudden remembered your blog. We hadn't checked it in a long time. It's so awesome to be able to follow what you're up to online!

It looks like you're living on a Star Wars set (the first Trilogy, not 2nd). Teaching, working out all the time, regular haircuts, dedicated doctor... Who is this motivated man I'm reading about? Just kidding, Huy, you rule. Hey, have you gotten that Eagle, Globe, and Anchor etched on that canvas of yours yet?

We've had a lot going on here. My parents and grandparents came up for Easter. Val and I drove to Ashland, KY for the funeral of her cousin (our age, very sad.) I flew a xcountry flight in a Hornet w/ a pilot in my squadron that is also from Louisville down to Key West for a night then up to L'ville for the weekend of opening ceremonies of the Derby. PRT waiver season is just finishing. Val and I went to our first NASCAR event this past weekend in Richmond (tailgating fun, race ok.)

Keep up the good work dude! We miss ya and are thinking about you.
